ERWU-projects

ERWU-projects is all about France, the Bordeaux wine region, about wine, real-estate and working with people.

What is the offer?

I can help you find a vineyard/chateau in the Bordeaux wine-region. For 4 years now I have travelled the region many times (on average every two months), visiting many chateau's for sale with many different real-estate agents. Many work for large real-estate organizations with head-offices in Geneva or London. Many of these agents are not as you would like an agent to be.  Very few are. Professional, on time, know all about wine-making, speak other languages, answer your e-mails promptly etc. I have found two that fit these qualifications. I do not work for them, nor do I work for the seller. I work for the buyer, who has that dream that many have, who has the money, but does not know where to start, and with whom to start.

Buying a chateau-vineyard is not difficult. Finding a good one, is, and more important, finding good management is even more difficult. Many of the chateaus for sale, are for sale for an obvious reason. Lack of modernization in wine-making, marketing, sales, procurement of material, finance etc. If you buy a chateau with a good terroir, with good equipment (or potential), in a good appellation, from a professional real-estate agent, with a basic commercial basis, and you find a very good winemaker and management, then there is a good basis for success and return on investment. Don't forget, every fall there is a harvest and it needs to be sold. On top of that, if you want to make use of, in many cases, the large real-estate potential in some chateaus, you can exploit a second financial source. Put all this in a setting of the proximity of the large and modern city of Bordeaux, with very good air-rail-road connections, you might have a good business case. Or, maybe you just want to enjoy the good life, and still make some money, Bordeaux is the place to do that. Bordeaux is still the mother of all wines and the city is sometimes called the smaller Paris. It has everything Paris has, but is more compact, in a warmer climate and with a more relaxed way of living.

I work with a team (see "Team-page") and have gotten to know many others such as accountants, lawyers, construction companies, architects, suppliers to the wine-business, French chateaux and vineyard owners, and many others. I know many other foreigners who own vineyards, chateaux, gites, hotels and other businesses. I visit all these people regularly during my frequent trips to the Bordeaux wine region. They too have their own networks I can plug in to. I speak reasonably good French, also when things get technical. English and Dutch are my mother tongues, and my German is also good.

3 Years ago I met Jean-Michel Dubos, who had 20 yrs experience as technical director of Beausejour Heirs Duffau-Lagarrosse a Premier Grand Cru Classé domain in Saint-Emilion. We started our journey together and with him we started our first project in 2009. We run a small Dutch owned vineyard in the Haut Médoc, so we practice what we preach and are used to work for shareholders abroad.

This site is not about attracting large numbers of people. It is about telling and showing you, whom I mostly have already met, what the possibilities are. Me and my team can help you, work with you, work for you.

So, you may have dreamt about owning a vineyard-chateau. Stop dreaming. I can find you one which suits you and with my team I can manage it for you or help you manage it yourself.

Tell me what I can do for you!!
